One half of the photo represents the desirable lures that may tempt a young man such as sex, gossip, and gambling while the other have represents a virtuous and fulfilling life that may include academia, hard work, healing, and prayer. This piece displays themes such as art, politics, and community. The image depicts what the artist views as the different choices a young man must make when venturing out into the world. The artist manipulated the black and white carbon photo well before the invention of digital cameras and Photoshop.
